Role Overview
The HR Executive will play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the employee experience across the business. This hands-on position involves managing a variety of HR functions, ensuring compliance, and fostering a positive, engaging workplace culture. You will collaborate with leadership and employees to enhance HR processes and contribute to organisational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Strategy Development: Assist in creating and executing HR initiatives in partnership with senior management to align with the company’s strategic goals.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including advertising roles, sourcing candidates, coordinating interviews, managing offers, facilitating work permits, and supporting induction programmes to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
- Employee Records and Administration: Maintain precise personnel files, oversee confirmations, promotions, and exits, and monitor attrition through exit interviews and reporting.
- Learning and Development: Coordinate internal and external training activities, manage grant schemes where applicable, track progress, and maintain comprehensive training records.
- Performance and Engagement: Support performance management processes, assist with improvement plans, organise employee engagement initiatives, and monitor workplace sentiment through surveys and feedback mechanisms, providing insights to leadership.
- Policy and Compliance: Review, develop, and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with Maltese Employment Law and relevant EU directives while maintaining all required statutory documentation.
- Industry Awareness: Stay updated on HR trends, developments, and best practices to continuously improve the function within the organisation.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 2–4 years of HR experience, ideally in small to mid-sized organisations.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English; proficiency in Maltese is advantageous.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to interact effectively across all organisational levels.
- Interpersonal Skills: Capable of building trust and fostering positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of HR systems and processes, as well as Maltese Employment Law and EU directives.
- Organisation: Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple HR operations independently.
- Self-Motivated: Proactive, flexible, and driven to take initiative in supporting HR functions.
- Problem-Solving: Confident in identifying issues and implementing effective HR solutions.
