​​​​​Role Overview

Our Client is seeking a Junior Associate Lawyer with a focus on Employment Law to join its legal team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of employment law services, assist with client matters, and contribute to team projects, gaining exposure to a range of employment-related issues in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Support: Assist in providing clear and practical guidance on employment law matters, including compliance, workplace issues, and contractual queries.
• Legal Drafting: Help prepare legal opinions, contracts, internal policies, and other relevant documentation under supervision.
• Compliance Assistance: Support clients with employment-related processes, such as policy implementation, job evaluations, and equal pay considerations.
• Litigation Support: Attend hearings and assist senior lawyers with court or tribunal proceedings and dispute resolution tasks.
• Team Collaboration: Work alongside colleagues across practice areas to contribute to legal projects and support the broader team.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Education: Degree in Law with a valid warrant to practice law in Malta.
• Experience: At least one year’s post-qualification experience in a law firm or in-house environment, preferably with exposure to employment and industrial relations matters.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of both Maltese and English is essential.
• Communication Skills: Able to present legal concepts clearly in written and verbal communication.
• Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative, able to build positive relationships with colleagues and clients, and adaptable within team settings.
• Technical Skills: Basic to intermediate legal drafting and analytical abilities, with an understanding of employment legislation and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Organisation: Able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a professional setting.
• Self-Motivated: Proactive, eager to learn, and committed to developing professional expertise while supporting the team.
• Problem-Solving: Able to assist in identifying issues and contributing to practical solutions under guidance.
