Role Overview
Heroix is collaborating with our Client, a reputable organisation in the education sector, to recruit a Compliance Manager. This opportunity is suited to a legal or compliance professional who wishes to further develop their expertise within a highly regulated environment, with a structured career path towards a senior leadership position in quality assurance and compliance. The successful candidate will play a central role in maintaining regulatory adherence, overseeing quality processes, managing external relationships with regulatory and accreditation stakeholders, and ensuring that institutional documentation and procedures consistently meet required standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for national and international regulatory authorities, accreditation organisations, educational partners, and external stakeholders regarding compliance, quality standards, approvals, and related matters.
- Quality Governance: Coordinate and monitor the implementation of quality assurance practices across the Business, ensuring that all departments maintain compliance with internal requirements and external obligations.
- Policy Management: Oversee the development, maintenance, and scheduled review of organisational policies and procedures, ensuring documentation remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with current standards.
- Audit Coordination: Plan and manage internal and external quality reviews, facilitate audit preparation, maintain accurate records, and support successful interactions with external assessors and accreditation bodies.
- Assessment and Records Compliance: Ensure that assessment processes, documentation practices, data management procedures, and record retention activities meet applicable regulatory, confidentiality, and quality requirements.
- International Projects Oversight: Monitor compliance documentation and operational processes connected to international collaborations and external educational partnerships.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal leadership teams and department representatives to promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and adherence to established quality frameworks.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
- Education: A recognised legal qualification such as an LLD, a legal warrant, or an equivalent MQF Level 7 qualification in law, compliance, governance, risk management, or a related discipline will be considered.
- Experience: A minimum of two to four years’ experience within a regulated compliance, governance, legal, or risk-focused environment. Previous exposure within sectors such as financial services, gaming, data protection, or corporate compliance will be considered advantageous, whilst prior experience within education is not essential.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be considered an asset.
- Communication Skills: Ability to present complex legal and regulatory requirements clearly, produce high-quality professional documentation, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at different organisational levels.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate confidently with senior management, external bodies, and cross-functional teams whilst maintaining professional independence.
- Technical Skills: Excellent capability to interpret regulatory frameworks, evaluate compliance obligations, prepare policies, manage audits, and maintain structured, audit-ready documentation.
- Organisation: Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and deliver quality outcomes within established deadlines.
- Self-Motivated: Demonstrates initiative, ownership, and a strong commitment to professional development, with the ambition to progress into a future leadership position.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical thinking with the ability to assess risks, identify compliance gaps, and implement practical solutions.
