Role Overview
Heroix is partnering with a forward-thinking organisation to recruit a Senior Manager – Environmental Programmes. This role will play a central part in overseeing key strategic programmes, including large-scale environmental initiatives, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and in line with regulatory and organisational requirements. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership, governance oversight, and strategic direction while working closely with senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme Leadership: Provide end-to-end oversight of assigned initiatives, ensuring delivery aligns with approved objectives, timelines, and compliance obligations.
- Governance & Compliance: Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks to ensure initiatives operate in line with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across all programme phases, implementing appropriate controls and escalation mechanisms where required.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a senior point of contact for regulators, executives, and key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.
- Strategic Oversight: Support the development and implementation of long-term initiative strategies, contributing to continuous improvement and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
- Education: Postgraduate qualification in Project Management, Environmental Management, Public Policy, Agriculture, Natural Resources, Law, or a related discipline at MQF Level 7.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in programme management, public-sector initiatives, or regulated environments, with demonstrable exposure to governance-led operations.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of both Maltese and English is required to succeed in this role.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to senior stakeholders and external bodies.
- Interpersonal Skills: Confident relationship builder capable of engaging effectively with regulators, executives, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of governance frameworks, regulatory compliance, and policy interpretation within structured programme environments.
- Organisation: Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and reporting requirements simultaneously.
- Self-Motivated: Proactive, driven, and capable of working independently while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risks and implement practical, compliant solutions.
