About the Function
Technology is at the core of the knowledge-based organisation. It enables MFSA's strategic and operational objectives to be achieved efficiently and effectively. The Technology team leverages cutting-edge technology, industry standards and methodologies to provide reliable services to the rest of the organisation and the financial services sectors interacting with the Authority electronically. It is responsible for technology design, information security, development, integration and delivery of all information and communications infrastructure, platforms and services, working with technology vendors and partners. The Technology team is made up of professionals specialised in relevant areas that include governance and planning, infrastructure and service management, information systems, and security. Officials from Technology also participate and give their contribution in several European committees, expert groups and industry fora.
About the Role
The selected candidate will be involved in the below duties:
- Assisting in the development, configuration, and support of internal business systems and applications.
- Supporting basic data-related activities, including querying, validating, and updating data using SQL or similar technologies.
- Assisting with the configuration and support of low-code/no-code solutions, including Microsoft Power Platform components such as Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Assisting with basic system administration and configuration tasks across business applications, including user access, role assignment, and simple configuration changes under supervision.
- Contributing to the preparation and maintenance of user and technical documentation related to business applications and system configurations.
Undertaking any other duties as assigned by the Head and/or as may be required by the MFSA from time to time based on the exigencies of the Authority.
About You
In order to be eligible for the role, the selected candidate must be in the process of obtaining a qualification in Business, Computing, or any relevant field at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level.
Furthermore, the ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Willingness to learn and work across different technology areas, including software development, business applications, data, and platforms, as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with software development using C# and .NET, including an understanding of the MVC pattern, or an interest in information systems and business applications instead of traditional software development.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and service-based architectures, with exposure to microservices considered an asset, or basic knowledge of databases and data concepts, with exposure to SQL considered an asset.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Awareness of how IT supports business operations, ideally within the financial services industry.
