

Junior Finance Officer (Operations)
About the Function
The Finance function oversees and manages the finances of the Authority, supporting the various other functions within the Authority in all financial matters, including the preparation of timely management information, revenue collection, payments to suppliers and service providers, payroll and financial control and budgetary control. The function also sets, monitors and improves the operation of the MFSA's financial control framework, ensuring compliance with established policies and controls. It co-ordinates with the Statutory Auditors on the annual audit of the Authority's Financial Statements drawn up in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and is also responsible for the timely submission of required statutorily financial information to Parliament.
About the Role
- You will be expected to carry out the following tasks:
- In charge of the Authority’s petty cash, including but not limited to petty cash counts and petty cash reconciliations;
- Carrying out Bank Reconciliations on a monthly basis;
- Carrying out Supplier Statement Reconciliations as necessary;
- Posting of invoices, payments and journal entries on SAGE accounting system;
- Acquiring in a timely manner, the necessary supporting documentation with respect to all Visa Card expenses and posting to the correct cost element account;
- Identifying whether Value Added Tax is due on Visa Card transactions and posting to the correct cost element accordingly;
- Assisting the other team members on the travel process, including but not limited to the preparation, processing and posting of the travel related disbursements;
- Assisting the other team members on the travel debit card reconciliation as necessary;
- Updating records on Excel with respect to Insurance Claims and assisting the Operations Team with the monthly travel insurance declarations;
- Updating and compiling reports on Excel and handling general administrative duties for the Operations Team, as necessary;
- Assisting the Operations Team in the workload, as necessary.
About You
Qualification at MQF Level 6 qualification or equivalent qualification in a relevant field. Professional certifications in the field are advantageous.
If you do not have the necessary academic qualifications but you have at least 5 years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you.
