

Junior Finance Officer (Operations)
About the Function
The Finance function oversees and manages the finances of the Authority, supporting the various other functions within the Authority in all financial matters, including the preparation of timely management information, revenue collection, payments to suppliers and service providers, payroll and financial control and budgetary control. The function also sets, monitors and improves the operation of the MFSA's financial control framework, ensuring compliance with established policies and controls. It co-ordinates with the Statutory Auditors on the annual audit of the Authority's Financial Statements drawn up in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and is also responsible for the timely submission of required statutorily financial information to Parliament.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Junior Finance Officer to support our Operations Team with day-to-day operations, on a part-time basis.
You will be expected to carry out the following tasks:
- Posting of Supplier Invoices: Posting of invoices in the correct cost element and cost centre while ensuring alignment with procurement;
- Processing of Payments: Preparing invoices and other documentation with all the necessary approvals for payment;
- Posting of Supplier Payments, Reimbursements, Travel allowances, and Journals on SAGE;
- Carrying out Reconciliations of Supplier Statements with SAGE;
- Updating and compiling reports on Excel, as necessary;
- Assisting other team members in their workload, as necessary;
- Assisting the direct line manager in the closing of the monthly management accounts and any other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Head and/or as may be required by the MFSA from time to time based on the exigencies of the Authority.
About You
Qualification at MQF Level 6 or equivalent qualification in a relevant field. Professional certifications in the field are advantageous.
If you do not have the necessary academic qualifications but you have at least 5 years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you.
