Payroll Officer

Hilton Malta is looking for a detail-oriented full-time Payroll Officer to join our Human Resources team and take ownership of the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent service to our Team Members.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly payroll processing and reconciliation
  • Ensure compliance with Maltese payroll, tax, and social security requirements
  • Prepare statutory returns including FS3, FS5 and FS7 submissions
  • Produce payroll, labour cost and workforce reports using Indigo Payroll and Indigo Insights
  • Support Heads of Department with payroll and labour data analysis
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate payroll processes
  • Maintain accurate records while ensuring confidentiality and GDPR compliance
  • Support HR projects, process improvements, and wider HR initiatives, collaborating with the team to deliver an efficient and positive employee experience.
Educational and skill requirements

We're looking for someone with:

  • Experience with Indigo Payroll / Shireburn Software and Indigo Insights
  • Knowledge of Maltese payroll legislation and statutory reporting
  • Hospitality or high-volume payroll experience
  • Experience in payroll, HR administration, or accounting
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive mindset and passion for continuous improvement
