Role Overview

Heroix is collaborating with our Client to recruit a Network Engineer who will

tworks. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with a practical, service-focused approach to implementing and supporting dependable communication environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Implementation: Deploy and configure communication infrastructure that meets each customer’s technical and operational requirements.
• Infrastructure Support: Monitor, maintain and provide technical assistance for network environments, ensuring reliable performance and service continuity.
• Connectivity Management: Work across local area, wide area and wireless networks, configuring routers, switches and related equipment.
• Advanced Network Solutions: Contribute to projects involving unified communications, data centre architecture, software-defined networks and cloud connectivity.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Investigate network faults methodically, identify their underlying causes and implement suitable corrective measures.
• Customer Collaboration: Liaise with customers and internal colleagues to understand requirements, communicate technical matters clearly and deliver effective solutions.
• Network Optimisation: Review infrastructure performance and recommend improvements that strengthen availability, security and efficiency.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Communications and Computer Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
• Experience: At least two years of practical experience working with physical routers and switches across LAN, WAN and WLAN environments.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
• Communication Skills: The ability to explain technical information clearly and work effectively with customers, colleagues and other stakeholders.
• Interpersonal Skills: A cooperative and service-oriented approach, with the ability to build positive working relationships across diverse teams and customer environments.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of internet and IP technologies, together with practical knowledge of DNS, VLANs, SNMP, DHCP and routing protocols. Cisco CCNA, CCNP or comparable manufacturer certifications would be considered beneficial.
• Organisation: The ability to prioritise competing tasks, manage several assignments simultaneously and maintain accuracy in a busy technical setting.
• Self-Motivated: A proactive and constructive attitude, with the initiative to take ownership of responsibilities and remain effective in a results-focused environment.
• Problem-Solving: Well-developed analytical judgement and a structured approach to diagnosing faults and resolving complex network issues.
