Role Overview
The Key Account Clerk - Logistics will play a pivotal role in supporting the Key Accounts team, ensuring seamless operations across shipments and maintaining strong client relationships. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and a dedication to delivering high-quality service that meets client expectations consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Shipment Management: Oversee air, ocean, and road shipments for both imports and exports, ensuring smooth coordination and timely execution.
- Rate Quoting and Follow-Up: Prepare competitive rate quotations and maintain communication with clients to confirm and finalise agreements.
- Documentation Processing: Handle all operational documentation accurately, ensuring records are complete and compliant.
- Invoice Administration: Issue invoices promptly upon completion of shipments and reconcile monthly invoices for client review by the 3rd of each month.
- Client Engagement: Keep clients regularly updated on shipment progress, address queries, and ensure outstanding service levels, aiming for excellent feedback on client satisfaction surveys.
- Team Support: Provide coverage for colleagues during absences, maintaining continuity of service within the department.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
- Education: Relevant qualifications in business, logistics, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Previous experience in logistics, shipping, or related sectors, with exposure to account management and operational processes.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required. Knowledge of Maltese is advantageous.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to convey information clearly and persuasively to clients and internal teams.
- Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative and approachable, capable of building and sustaining positive working relationships.
- Technical Skills: Competent in handling shipment tracking systems, invoicing, and documentation processes.
- Organisation: Ability to prioritise tasks effectively, managing multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
- Self-Motivated: Proactive, driven, and willing to take initiative to ensure seamless operations and client satisfaction.
- Problem-Solving: Skilled at identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions promptly.
