Role Overview
The Inventory Executive is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day management of stores and inventory processes to ensure materials are available when required while maintaining accurate stock control. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting production continuity, maintaining organised warehouse operations, and contributing to efficient inventory planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Stores Operations Management: Oversee the daily activities of the stores function, including receiving deliveries, organising storage, preparing materials for distribution, and coordinating dispatch, while ensuring all stock movements are properly recorded within the ERP or MRP system.
- Inventory Planning and Control: Monitor inventory levels for raw materials and packaging supplies, planning replenishment requirements to maintain adequate stock availability while reducing excess inventory and unnecessary losses.
- Stock Monitoring and Accuracy: Track material consumption, manage shelf-life considerations, and oversee product returns or stock adjustments, ensuring accurate records and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Compliance and Operational Standards: Ensure warehouse activities adhere to established company procedures, safety regulations, and housekeeping standards, promoting a safe and organised working environment.
- Team Leadership and Cross-Department Collaboration: Guide and support the stores team by allocating tasks, monitoring performance, encouraging skill development, and maintaining effective communication with departments such as Production, Quality, Finance, and Purchasing, as well as external suppliers.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
- Education: A qualification at MQF Level 5 or Level 6 in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse supervision, or stores management within an operational or manufacturing environment.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments and coordinate with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Interpersonal Skills: Capable of leading and motivating a team while fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems and the ability to manage inventory transactions and reporting within digital stock management platforms.
- Organisation: Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage inventory data accurately, and maintain structured warehouse processes.
- Self-Motivated: Proactive and dependable individual who takes initiative and remains focused on achieving operational efficiency.
- Problem-Solving: Able to identify stock risks, operational issues, or discrepancies and implement practical solutions in a timely manner.
