Role Overview
Heroix is partnering with a respected legal practice to recruit a Commercial & Employment Lawyer. This role offers the opportunity to advise a diverse client portfolio on commercial and employment law matters, working closely with experienced legal professionals while contributing to a broad range of complex and rewarding assignments.
- Commercial Contract Drafting: Prepare, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, ensuring legal accuracy while protecting clients' commercial interests.
- Employment Law Advisory: Provide practical legal guidance on employment-related matters, including contracts of employment, workplace procedures, disciplinary and grievance matters, employee relations, redundancies, terminations and compliance with employment legislation.
- Employment Dispute Management: Support clients throughout employment disputes by providing strategic advice, assisting with negotiations and settlements, and representing or supporting proceedings where required.
- Legal Research: Conduct detailed legal research and interpret legislation, case law and regulatory developments to support client advice and legal opinions.
- Commercial and Corporate Support: Collaborate with partners and senior legal professionals on corporate and commercial matters, contributing to complex transactions and advisory work.
- Education: A recognised legal qualification together with a warrant to practise law in Malta.
- Experience: Previous experience in commercial contract drafting and employment law is essential. Exposure to corporate and commercial legal matters is expected, while experience handling employment disputes or Industrial Tribunal proceedings would be considered an advantage.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of both Maltese and English is required to succeed in this role.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal matters clearly and prepare high-quality legal documentation.
- Interpersonal Skills: Able to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues while working effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- Technical Skills: Sound knowledge of commercial, corporate and employment law principles, together with excellent legal drafting, analytical and research abilities.
- Organisation: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritise workloads and consistently meet deadlines.
- Self-Motivated: A proactive professional who takes ownership of responsibilities and is committed to delivering high standards of client service.
- Problem-Solving: Capable of evaluating complex legal issues, identifying practical solutions and providing commercially focused advice.
