Role Overview
This position offers an exciting opportunity for a legally qualified professional to join a specialist practice focused on gaming and gambling. The successful candidate will be involved in advising clients on regulatory, corporate, and commercial matters, while also supporting transactional work and contributing to the continued development of the Firm’s expertise in this highly regulated sector.
- Legal Advisory Services: Provide clear, commercially focused legal guidance to clients operating within gaming, gambling, and related regulated industries, ensuring alignment with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Contractual Work: Prepare, assess, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including supplier arrangements, service level agreements, white-label structures, intellectual property arrangements, and software licensing documentation.
- Regulatory & Licensing Support: Assist clients with licensing processes, ongoing regulatory obligations, and compliance requirements across relevant jurisdictions.
- Regulatory Engagement: Communicate and coordinate with both local and international regulatory bodies on behalf of clients where required.
- Legal Monitoring: Keep abreast of developments in Maltese and European legal frameworks and translate these into practical advice for clients.
- Internal Contribution: Share sector-specific knowledge within the team and support the continuous strengthening of the practice group’s capabilities and reputation.
- Business Development & Culture: Support initiatives aimed at expanding the Firm’s presence in the gaming legal space while promoting a collaborative and supportive working environment.
- Education: A completed law degree and a formal warrant to practice law in Malta.
- Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience gained within gaming law, corporate law, or commercial legal practice.
- Language Skills: Strong command of both English and Maltese, written and spoken, is essential for success in this role.
- Communication Skills: Ability to convey legal concepts clearly and effectively to clients and colleagues across different levels.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building abilities with a professional, client-focused approach.
- Technical Skills: Solid understanding of gaming regulation, corporate structures, commercial contracting, and licensing frameworks.
- Organisation: Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Self-Motivated: Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and the ability to work independently when required.
- Problem-Solving: Able to interpret complex legal issues and provide practical, solution-oriented advice.
