Junior Sous Chef

Meliteh Recruiting is hiring a Junior Sous Chef for one of our clients to join their dynamic team on a full-time basis in Malta.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced culinary professional to contribute to a fast-paced kitchen environment, ensuring high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest food safety and hygiene standards.

Role Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a restaurant kitchen environment
• Strong knowledge of basic kitchen preparation, various dishes, and cooking methods
• Familiarity with authentic ingredients and suitable substitutes
• Holder of a valid food handler license
• Proficiency in verbal and written English
• Keen eye for detail and passion for culinary innovation
• Willingness to work on a shift basis in a busy kitchen setting

Main Duties:

• Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and presentation
• Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff to ensure consistency in dishes
• Maintain food quality, portion control, and adherence to recipes
• Monitor inventory levels, ensuring efficient stock management and minimizing waste
• Uphold food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring a clean and organized workspace
• Contribute ideas for menu development and new dish creation
• Address and resolve any kitchen-related challenges or customer feedback
• Comply with company grooming and hygiene standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Sous Chef or Head Chef
