
Grill Chef
Position Summary:
A Grill Chef is responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of grilled food items such as meats, poultry, seafood, and vegetables according to the restaurant’s recipes and quality standards. The role involves operating and monitoring grill equipment, ensuring correct cooking temperatures, and delivering dishes in a timely and consistent manner during service.
The Grill Chef must maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety, ensure proper food storage and stock rotation, and keep the grill station clean, organised, and well stocked. The
position also requires effective communication with other kitchen staff, the ability to work
under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and adherence to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Prepare, season, and cook meats, fish, vegetables, and other items on the grill to order.
- Ensure all grill station items are cooked to the appropriate temperature and
presentation standards. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grill station and equipment.
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food service.
- Assist with prep work, stock rotation, and receiving deliveries as required.
- Comply with portion sizes, cooking methods, and presentation standards.
- Proven experience as a grill chef, line cook, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of grill cooking techniques and food safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
