Role Overview

As a Supervisor within the Retail Banking Department, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating a variety of commercial, administrative, and operational activities. Your leadership will be essential in coaching junior staff, assisting in leading the branch team, and contributing to the achievement of the bank's targets and objectives. You will also be involved in general administrative duties, ensuring high-quality customer service, and undertaking tasks related to negotiation and decision-making as required by management.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Development: Coach and mentor junior staff, fostering their growth and development within the bank.
Operational Excellence: Coordinate and oversee diverse commercial, administrative, and operational activities, ensuring smooth and efficient branch operations.
Customer-Centric Approach: Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing client needs and resolving inquiries promptly and professionally.
Sales and Business Development: Contribute to the achievement of the bank's sales targets by utilizing effective sales techniques and building strong customer relationships.
Administrative Support: Perform general administrative duties, ensuring accurate record-keeping, documentation, and compliance with internal procedures.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within the banking sector.
Banking Knowledge: Familiarity with banking accounting fundamentals, foreign operations, and cashier/front office duties.
Sales Acumen: Proven ability to apply sales techniques effectively and achieve sales targets.
Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Compliance Mindset: Embrace and promote a culture of compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Maltese.
Organisational Skills: Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
Education: A degree in Economics, Business Management, Banking and Finance, or a related field is an asset.
