Foodstore Manager (Gozo)

To Manage the Foodstores Operations at our Arkadia Foodstore in Gozo.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • To implement where required and maintain existing effective administration procedures to enable high performance from Arkadia Food store.
  • To provide clear and accurate reports and general information to the team as required.
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards in regards to all aspects of Arkadia Food store and assisting with implementing new developments and key messages to improve working practices and effectiveness of delivery against key targets
  • Assist with the administration of recruitment, selection and induction of new employees
  • Manage operations to ensure that budgetary targets are achieved in an efficient and effective manner
  • Analyse monthly financial reports to confirm operations figures are in line with financial reporting
  • Maintain highest levels of cleanliness and organisation through the implementation of daily check sheets and control measures.
  • Maintain an ongoing awareness and monitor competitor activity, including the generation of reports, in order to take appropriate counter action.
  • Maintain store visibility, hygiene levels and organization to continuously optimize  customer service levels
  • Log, report (including corrective actions taken) and address customer verbal and written complaints within 24hrs of initial complaint utilizing written resolution methods
  • Ensure proper store inventory management and control for all departments within the store utilizing category management techniques and FIFO principles
  • Ensure all storerooms and products are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and organization
  • Establish  quantitative and qualitative control checks for receipt of incoming products
  • Monitor stock loss through security and control methods in order to establish business targets and improvement targets.
  • Implement and maintain HACCP and food hygiene standards to meet legislative requirements
  • Continuously prepare and present proposals for improving efficiency, sales and service based on the analysis of market trends
  • Research the local market and consumer needs to develop winning business models to take advantage of future opportunities and to maintain business advantage
  • Coordinate with the marketing department in developing plans and programs in order to continuously offer a product range that satisfies our customer needs and ongoing demands 
  • Recognize own personal responsibility in regards to health and safety and adhere to all legislation and company policy.
  • Participate in Health and Safety training and have a complete and up to date knowledge of company emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Be knowledgeable of local H&S Regulations/ Legislations.
Educational and skill requirements
  • Previous experience in the foodstore industry is required
  • Experience in inventory management, purchasing and customer service
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of employees
