Site Supervisor

The Site Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of finishing works on construction sites, ensuring that works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project programmes and company procedures.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily construction and finishing works on site.
  • Coordinate site workers, subcontractors and other trades to ensure works are completed efficiently and to the required standards.
  • Monitor quality, progress and compliance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
  • Carry out site measurements and assist with quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities, variations and progress measurements.
  • Check and verify subcontractor quantities and bills based on actual works completed.
  • Monitor material requirements, usage and wastage, and coordinate with the relevant departments as required.
  • Conduct site inspections, identify defects and ensure snagging and corrective works are completed.
  • Maintain accurate site records and report progress, delays, issues and requirements to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, health and safety requirements and good housekeeping standards.
  • Assist the Project Manager with general project coordination, documentation and handover requirements.
Educational and skill requirements

Education / Qualifications

  • Technical qualification in Construction, Building, Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction site supervision, particularly in finishing works.
  • Relevant practical experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.

Skills & Competencies

  • Good knowledge of construction and finishing works, including tiling, waterproofing, screeding, plastering, painting and gypsum.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to carry out accurate site measurements and quantity take-offs.
  • Basic understanding of Bills of Quantities, subcontractor bills and project costing.
  • Good organisational, coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to supervise workers and subcontractors.
  • Good attention to detail, particularly regarding quality and measurements.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements applicable to construction sites.
