Payables Finance Executive

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for accuracy and organisation? We are looking for a Payables Finance Executive to join our Finance Department and play a key role in managing supplier payments, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and supporting the financial success of our hotel.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll be part of a dynamic team where your work will have a direct impact on the smooth running of the business

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Prepare creditor payment reports and process payment runs (electronic transfers, cheques, direct debits, standing orders, and other payment methods) in line with approval procedures, payment terms, and cash flow requirements.
  • Prepare and distribute remittance advice to suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate accounts payable records and ensure correct allocation of all creditor transactions.
  • Produce bi-weekly creditor reports for Management, ensuring all purchase invoices are recorded and highlighting cash flow and expenditure trends.
  • Reconcile supplier statements, investigate discrepancies, and follow through until outstanding issues are resolved.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and audit preparation.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve invoice and payment queries while maintaining positive business relationships.
  • Support the Financial Controller with reporting, projects, and other finance-related tasks as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes and controls.
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role.
Educational and skill requirements
  • 2–5 years' experience in Accounts Payable or Finance, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Experience using accounting or hotel finance systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
