Audit Associate / Auditor

Due to the continued expansion of our audit practice, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Auditor / Audit Associate to join our audit team.

The successful candidate will be involved in statutory audits for a portfolio of Maltese and international clients, working closely with senior auditors and managers in a professional and supportive environment.

Main tasks and responsibilities

·       Participation in statutory audits in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA)

·       Preparation of audit working papers and supporting schedules

·       Assisting in the planning, execution and completion of audit engagements

·       Reviewing/preparing financial statements in compliance with IFRS / GAPSME and Maltese regulations

·       Performing audit testing and analytical procedures

·       Liaising with clients to obtain information and clarify audit matters

·       Identifying audit issues and communicating findings to senior team members

·       Assisting with audit reports and management letters

·       Working collaboratively with different departments within the firm

·       Ensuring audit engagement is completed accurately and within deadlines

·       Ensuring audit files are in place and properly saved

·       Keeping up to date with auditing standards, accounting standards and regulatory developments

Educational and skill requirements

·       University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

·       Qualified or partly-qualified ACCA / ACA (or equivalent), or in the process of obtaining qualification

·       Good understanding of auditing standards and accounting principles

·       0–3 years’ experience in audit (flexible depending on seniority)

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·       Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines

·       Good written and verbal communication skills in English

·       Maltese language is considered an asset but is not mandatory

·       Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

·       Strong sense of professionalism, ethics and confidentiality
