Japanese Speaking Waiting Staff (Native)
Trendy and chic Zen Japanese Sushi Bar & Teppanyaki Restaurant is looking to
add new members to its growing family.
We are an independent hospitality establishment focused on providing excellent
customer service, delicious Japanese food and drinks and a relaxed atmosphere to
our customers.
We are looking for passionate personalities who love what they do and are eager to
develop in the hospitality industry.
Speaking fluent Japanese & English and ability to work in a fast-paced environment is a must
and we expect you to have at least 2 years experience in a similar type of
restaurant.
Ideally, you will have good knowledge of Japanese cuisine, but it is not an essential
requirement as full training will be provided.

*Main tasks and responsibilities:
Your tasks will include but will not be limited to:
• Maintain personal cleanliness to meet the required standard of the establishment.
• Ensuring mise-en-place is prepared, polished and ready each day.
• Greet customers promptly, and politely. Show them to their seats and present our variety of menu options.
• Introduce our menus and describe different dishes and drinks.
• Take orders.
• Answer guests’ questions as required and be knowledgeable about the menus.
• Ensure that tables are cleared, cleaned and ready for the next party.
• Deliver bills and accept payment.
• Collaborate closely with other staff members.
• Provide a genuine, attentive, and friendly service to our guests in order to reflect the Zen standards.
• Work diligently to achieve outstanding service quality.
• Be an ambassador for Zen as well as someone who embodies our values and philosophies.
*Educational and skill requirements:
It’s all about you:
• You are fluent in both oral and written English & Japanese.
• You are a people person with fantastic communication skills.
• You have a natural ability and passion for exceeding guest’s expectations.
• Possesses stamina required to remain walking and/or standing for an entire shift.
• Have a good understanding of all dietary and allergen requirements.
• You have relevant work experience; preferably a 2 year experience in fine dining restaurants and have sufficient knowledge of Japanese dishes and menus.
*Must have:
• Must hold a valid Japanese Passport to be eligible to apply for a work permit.
• Must be eligible to register for the Skill Pass.
• Must speak Japanese and English.
• Must have a minimum 3 year(s) of proven and certified working experience in the related field for this position.
• Up selling skills.
• Ability to build relationships with colleagues and customers and ensure mutual satisfaction.
• Customer-oriented and planning skills.
• Working knowledge of cash register and any ordering information system.
• Outstanding people skills.
• Flexibility/Availability in hours and days of work, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Patient and friendly with demonstrated experience in problem solving.
