Grill Chef
The Grill Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking food items on the grill station according to established recipes and standards. This role requires precision, speed, and consistency to ensure high-quality dishes are served in a timely manner. The Grill Chef plays a key role in maintaining kitchen efficiency and delivering a positive dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, season, and cook meats, fish, vegetables, and other items on the grill to order.
- Ensure all grill station items are cooked to the appropriate temperature and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grill station and equipment.
- Monitor stock levels for grill-related ingredients and inform supervisors of shortages.
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food service.
- Assist with prep work, stock rotation, and receiving deliveries as required.
- Handle customer food allergies or dietary requirements in accordance with procedures.
- Comply with portion sizes, cooking methods, and presentation standards.
- Report any equipment or maintenance issues to the Head or Sous Chef.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a grill chef, line cook, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of grill cooking techniques and food safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Culinary certification or relevant hospitality qualification (desirable).
- Food Handling Certificate or equivalent.
