Butcher (Gozo)

As a Butcher, the employee will provide customers with fast and friendly service while ensuring accuracy at the cash point.

Main tasks and responsibilities

The Butcher duties include the following; 

Butcher Responsibilities;

  • Cutting, grinding and preparing meats for sale.
  • Prepare meat into forms ready for cooking using a variety of actions, including boning, tying, grinding, cutting and trimming to make it easier for customers.
  • Ensuring displays and signage are accurate and attractive.
  • Weighing, packaging, pricing, and displaying products.
  • Performing quality inspections on meats and other products.
  • Negotiating and confirming orders with suppliers.
  • Adhering to food safety and sanitation controls.
  • Coordinating deliveries or order pickups.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure stock levels are maintained and replenished regularly.
  • Adhere to portion control guidelines for cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Customer Care; 

  • Greeting customers as soon as they enter the shop.
  • Providing excellent customer care to our customers by building a healthy rapport
  • Assisting customers in any queries they might have.
  • Forwarding any customer complaints to the supervisor (or manager) on duty.

Procedures and Policies;

  • Following all Health and Safety regulations at all times in all areas
  • Updating of all documentation including temperature sheets and cleaning schedules that may be required
  • Following of standards and company procedures

Others;

  • Other duties that might be requested from time to time
  • As a Butcher the employee assists colleagues in a variety of tasks to ensure a smooth operation of the business
