Our design team ensured a layout for a more natural flow of people, with plenty of room in an airy, relaxed environment. We insisted on wide aisle with clearly defined signs, and excellent lighting to help you easily locate your favourite grocery product. Our shelves are higher than standard to make it easier to pick your items and to ensure that we can keep enough stocks on display. We also offer a number of services such as delivery and free two-hour parking at our Portomaso store for customers who spend over €15.

Assistant Store Manager
Assists the Stores Manager in managing the Foodstore Operation and motivate employees to achieve targets.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Ensure all staff is maintaining the highest level of customer service to rival all competition and guarantee customer loyalty.
- To implement where required, and maintain existing effective administration procedures to enable high performance from Arkadia Foodstore.
- To provide high quality customer service through a range of communication techniques including verbal – over the phone and face to face and written through traditional methods and via electronic mail and online media.
- To provide clear and accurate reports and general information to the team as required.
- Contribute to maintaining high standards in regards to all aspects of Arkadia Foodstore and assisting with implementing new developments and key messages to improve working practices and effectiveness of delivery against key targets.
- To liaise with colleagues from other departments and teams as required, achieving best value for the company.
- Be aware and understand current company policy and protocol.
- To take responsibility for their own personal, professional development.
- Manage operations to ensure that budgetary targets are achieved in an efficient and effective manner.
- Produce performance reports on a regular basis to effect timely corrective interventions to maintain budgets and targets.
- Ensure all staff completes an induction training programme to ensure they meet basic customer service and job related requirements.
- Manage concessionaires’ performance to ensure company standards are met, revenue streams are maximised and product offers are unprecedented on the market.
- Actively support and enforce equipment safety usage, health, sanitation and security regulations and programs.
- Maintain store visibility, hygiene levels and organisation to continuously optimise customer service levels.
- Log, report (including corrective actions taken) and address customer verbal and written complaints within 24hrs of initial complaint utilizing written resolution methods.
- Ensure proper store inventory management and control for all departments within the store utilizing category management techniques and FIFO principles.
- Ensure all storerooms and products are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
- Maintain adequate on hand stock for all shelf and promotional items.
- Ensure thorough planning and implementation of weekly and monthly merchandising programmes including a mechanism to measure effectiveness.
- Ensure that incoming and existing products are continuously checked for expiry date and procedures are in place to clear or return products before their expiry dates.
- Establish quantitative and qualitative control checks for receipt of incoming products.
- Monitor stock loss through security and control methods in order to establish business targets and improvement targets.
- Implement and maintain HACCP and food hygiene standards to meet legislative requirements.
- Lead and motivate all foodstore employees to develop strong teamwork and a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Direct and supervise employee’s to ensure they are fulfilling their job descriptions.
- Perform regular staff appraisals to provide feedback to both staff and management and identify training needs.
- Provide input for the establishment of staff individual KPIs and manage staff to those KPIs.
- Exercise customary management discipline including the discipline of staff in accordance with the company rules and regulations (cleanliness, appearance, customer service, etc) and reassign work schedules and duties.
- Ensure all staff complete an induction training program to ensure they meet basic customer service and job related requirements.
Educational and skill requirements
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills with the ability to motivate staff and manage daily operations efficiently.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle complaints and resolve problems effectively.
- Good organisational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of stock control, cash handling, merchandising, and food safety standards. Previous experience in retail or a foodstore environment, preferably in a supervisory role, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
