General Scope and Purpose of Position

We are currently looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Support Worker on a Part-time casual basis. Our support workers shall be responsible for assisting individuals, promoting engagement in meaningful daily activities, regardless of their abilities. This approach empowers those they support, boosting their confidence and enhancing their independence.

What you'll be doing

• Work with individuals during their daily activities to encourage active participation and engagement to the best of their abilities.
• Support individuals during service delivery, including assisting with feeding, personal hygiene, toileting, changing, and transitions between activities.
• Assist in setting up safe and enabling environments for activities and session plans.
• Prepare resources and materials as required.
• Support individuals in carrying out activities in line with recommended approaches.
• Follow tutors' and therapists' recommendations, where applicable, based on each individual's SMART goals.
• Implement each individual's Behaviour Support Plan, Risk Assessment, and Sensory Profile under the guidance of tutors and therapists.
• Liaise with team members to provide feedback based on group and individual performance and observations.
• Research and develop creative approaches to deliver sessions according to the needs of individuals and groups, when required.
• Assist tutors, teachers, and therapists in delivering small-group sessions in line with the curriculum and planned activities, when required.
• Maintain continuous professional development by proactively expanding knowledge and participating in training provided by Inspire.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate must be in possession of the following:

• Recognized qualification at MQF Level 3 or higher (minimum of 60 ECTS/ECVET) in Health and Social Care or a related field.
• Previous experience working within the disability sector is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or challenging behaviours.
• Availability to work in the afternoons.
• High proficiency in spoken and written English.

Prior to being recruited and throughout the duration of employment, the selected candidates need to satisfy the requirements of the Protection of Minors Act (POMA) together with those of immunization.
