Supply Teacher

About the role

Our Supply Teacher shall be responsible for planning and delivering educational sessions, ensuring they meet set standards. They shall work closely with the Programme Manager and other professionals to maintain high-quality practices and lead their team to support learners effectively.

What you'll be doing

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons tailored to learners’ educational needs and abilities.
  • Assess, record, and report on learners’ progress, development, attainment, and behavior.
  • Assign, correct, and mark learners' work.
  • Promote the general well-being and progress of individual learners or groups.
  • Participate in oral and written assessments, reports, and references.
  • Regularly evaluate teaching strategies and methodologies in line with the National Curriculum Framework.
  • Maintain high standards of professional teaching practice through peer review and observation.
  • Participate in training, CPD, and action research to improve practice.
  • Maintain order, discipline, and ensure the health and safety of learners.
  • Attend staff and curriculum-related meetings for program improvement.
  • Support the professional development of new and student teachers.
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and safekeeping of teaching equipment.
  • Contribute to effective program management and organisation.
  • Foster a culture of reflective teaching and facilitative learning.
  • Adapt teaching plans and resources to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Use audiovisual and assistive technologies throughout lesson delivery.
  • Collaborate with staff to organize and execute external events.
  • Participate in IFSP/case conferences and follow through with action plans.
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team for client/student-centered planning.
  • Liaise with professionals such as therapists, tutors, and psychologists for holistic service delivery.
  • Address parents’ concerns and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students, families, and staff.
  • Supervise learner transport when required.

What we're looking for

Adaptable, organized and dedicated professional with excellent leadership and organization skills with previous exposure in delivering sessions within the education environment within the disability sector (primary level of education).

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate should be in possession of the following:

  • MQF Level 6 (Degree) or equivalent degree in Early childhood education or any relevant field.
  • Temporary teachers warrant provided by the Council for the Teaching Profession (CTP).
  • Previous experience in a similar role/ setting will be considered as an advantage.
  • Excellent organization skills and time management.

Prior to being recruited and throughout the duration of employment, the selected candidates need to satisfy the requirements of the Protection of Minors Act (POMA) together with those of immunisation.
