Position Overview:
The Storekeeper – Chandlery Division will be responsible for the efficient management of warehouse operations and inventory within the chandlery division.
The role involves receiving, storing and organising marine supplies and technical equipment, ensuring accurate stock control and supporting the preparation of orders for vessel deliveries.
The position will report directly to the Business Development Manager – Chandlery Division and will play an important role in maintaining efficient supply operations and ensuring that customer orders are prepared accurately and on time.
This role also offers an attractive commission package linked to sales support and operational performance, providing additional earning potential.
Storekeeping & Inventory Management
- Receive, inspect and record incoming goods and materials.
- Ensure proper storage, labelling and organisation of all chandlery stock.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the company’s inventory management system.
- Conduct regular stock checks and assist with stock reconciliation and audits.
- Monitor stock levels and notify management when replenishment is required.
- Ensure proper handling of marine equipment, consumables and technical supplies.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised warehouse environment.
Order Preparation & Logistics Support
- Prepare and pack orders for vessel deliveries.
- Verify orders against delivery documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare delivery notes and packing lists.
- Coordinate with logistics personnel for timely delivery of orders to vessels, shipyards and clients.
- Assist in arranging urgent deliveries to vessels in port when required.
Supplier & Procurement Support
- Assist with placing purchase orders for stock replenishment.
- Maintain records of supplier deliveries and purchase documentation.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
Customer Interaction & Vessel Supply
- Support chandlery deliveries directly to vessels when required.
- Assist clients visiting the warehouse with product selection.
- Ensure all orders are prepared accurately and on schedule.
Operational Support
- Maintain organised records of stock movements and deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
- Support the division during busy operational periods.
Candidate Profile:
Education
- Secondary education required.
- Diploma or certification in logistics, supply chain or warehouse operations will be considered an advantage.
Experience
- Experience in warehouse operations, inventory management or stores.
- Experience within marine supply, ship chandlery, logistics or technical supply sectors will be considered an advantage.
