The Storekeeper is responsible for all goods stored within the Procurement Department/Stores. One of the main objectives of the position is to ensure effective storage, delivery and receiving of goods.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Receiving and inspecting goods and supplies received against invoices and purchase orders; ensuring that expiry dates and supplies quality are up to company standards.
  • Sorting, coding, stacking and checking stored supplies.
  • Maintaining par stock levels.
  • Participating and coordinating stock takes at a regular and as needed basis.
  • Rotating stock according to FIFO, checking expiry dates and preparing order lists together with purchasing officer.
  • Preparing timely requisitions according to requisition planning. Ensuring that all items are coded correctly on their respective shelves and that codes tally with the information on the hospital information system
  • Maintaining the Stores in a clean, tidy and organised manner.
  • Performing duties in accordance with Saint James Hospital Group policies and procedures.
  • Performing duties in accordance with occupational health and safety, equal opportunity and other relevant personnel policies / legislation.
