We are currently seeking a Sous Chef to support our kitchen operations and contribute to delivering high-quality dishes and memorable culinary experiences. This role is ideal for a passionate culinary professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys both kitchen operations and guest interaction
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality Maltese and Mediterranean dishes
- Maintain consistency, quality control, and presentation standards
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
- Support stock management, ordering, and cost control
- Supervise and support junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment
- Assist in menu development, seasonal specials, and culinary events
- Deliver and support hands-on cooking classes and culinary experiences for guests
- Contribute to creating a warm and engaging guest experience
Educational and skill requirements
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen (Maltese/Mediterranean cuisine preferred)
- Strong cooking, organisational, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Good communication skills and confidence in guest interaction
- Food Handling Licence
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and special events
- Passion for Maltese gastronomy and locally sourced ingredients
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong attention to detail
- Experience in delivering cooking classes or demonstrations is considered an asset
