Sales and Inventory Reporting Assistant

The Sales and Inventory Reporting Assistant is responsible for maintaining accurate data entry and supporting the generation of clear, detailed reports that assist in strategic decision-making related to inventory management. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual capable of monitoring stock levels, identifying discrepancies, and delivering timely, actionable insights to optimise inventory control and support overall operational efficiency.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  1. DATA MANAGEMENT AND ACCURACY
    1. Ensure accurate and consistent data entry into the inventory management system.
    2. Regularly review and verify inventory data for accuracy, including stock levels, movement, and adjustments.
    3. Maintain data integrity by identifying and rectifying discrepancies in stock information.
  2. INVENTORY REPORTING
    1. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports, highlighting key metrics such as stock levels, turnover rates, and stock valuation.
    2. Develop and issue custom reports for internal stakeholders, including procurement, finance, and operations teams.
    3. Provide insights on inventory trends, potential stockouts, and overstock situations to support inventory planning and decision-making, a development area, not expected within first 6 months.
  3. PROCESS IMPROVEMENT AND COMPLIANCE
    1. Identify areas for improvement in inventory data processes and collaborate with team members to implement changes.
    2. Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures related to inventory data management.
    3. Recommend best practices for inventory data management and reporting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

4. PROCESS IMPROVEMENT AND COMPLIANCE

    1. Liaise with purchasing, warehouse, and sales teams to ensure effective communication of stock levels and requirements.
    2. Support the finance team with accurate inventory data for budgeting and forecasting.
    3. Reporting to Sales and Inventory Analyst.
Educational and skill requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Data Analysis, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in inventory management, data reporting, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel; knowledge of data analytics tools is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
