Project Manager (Construction)

We are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee the delivery of construction and fit-out projects across our retail portfolio.

This role is responsible for managing new store openings, refurbishments, and structural upgrades from planning through to execution. The successful candidate must possess strong technical drawing literacy, be confident interpreting architectural plans, and understand construction sequencing and coordination.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Project Planning & Execution

    • Manage construction and fit-out projects from initial planning to final handover.
    • Review architectural drawings and technical plans to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
    • Coordinate contractors, suppliers, consultants, and landlords throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Monitor site progress to ensure works are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Identify risks and resolve technical or operational issues proactively.

     

    Technical Oversight

    • Interpret architectural drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
    • Ensure works are executed in line with approved plans and brand standards.
    • Liaise with architects and technical consultants regarding design clarifications.
    • Support preparation and review of technical documentation and project schedules.

     

    Budget & Cost Control

    • Monitor project budgets and cost variations.
    • Track contractor payments and ensure financial discipline across projects.
    • Assist in negotiating supplier and contractor quotations.

     

    Site & Compliance Management

    • Conduct regular site visits to monitor workmanship and compliance.
    • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
    • Oversee quality control and finishing standards in line with retail brand requirements.
Educational and skill requirements

PROFILE REQUIRED:

  • Background in Architecture, Construction Management, Draughting, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant technical software.
  • Experience managing construction or fit-out projects.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
