Job Role
As a Pastry Commis Chef, you will support the pastry team in the preparation and production of high-quality desserts and baked goods. You will assist in day-to-day kitchen operations while learning and developing your skills under the guidance of senior pastry chefs.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the preparation of pastry items, baked goods, and desserts.
- Following recipes and instructions from the Pastry Chef and Sous Chef.
- Preparing ingredients and ensuring workstation is clean and well-organized.
- Assisting with decorating and finishing pastries and desserts.
- Maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Ensuring proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
- Supporting the team in maintaining hygiene and safety standards in line with regulations.
- Participating in training and development opportunities to grow in the role.
Job Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or pastry environment is preferred.
- Basic understanding of baking techniques and interest in pastry work.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
- Flexible with working hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Passionate about pastry and eager to grow in the culinary field.
- Organized, enthusiastic, and a team player.
- Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.
