

Head of Risk, Quality & Compliance

About the role
We are currently looking for a analytical & strategic professional to join our team as a Head of Risk, Quality & Compliance on a Full-time basis.
What you'll be doing
Risk Management
- Develop and maintain Inspire’s risk management framework and register.
- Identify, assess, and monitor organisational, operational, and project-related risks.
- Collaborate with department heads and project leads to design mitigation strategies.
- Prepare regular risk reports for EXCO, Board Committees, and external auditors.
- Lead internal risk reviews, ensuring proactive management and reporting.
Quality Standards & ISO
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Inspire’s ISO-certified Quality Management System (QMS).
- Plan and conduct internal audits across all functions of Inspire, ensuring compliance with external certification requirements.
- Manage corrective and preventive actions and ensure timely closure.
- Liaise with external auditors and certification bodies during audits.
- Promote continuous improvement and quality awareness across the organisation.
Health & Safety
- Act as Inspire’s focal point for Health & Safety compliance and culture.
- Ensure that all sites, projects, and contractors adhere to legislative and internal safety standards.
- Maintain and update Health & Safety policies, risk assessments, and incident reporting mechanisms.
- Coordinate with external Health & Safety consultant.
- Lead safety awareness initiatives and training across all levels of staff.
Compliance & Project Involvement
- Serve as a compliance lead on all projects (including EU-funded and donor-funded initiatives).
- Review tender documentation, contracts, and project deliverables for alignment with compliance standards.
- Participate in project steering committees and ensure that risk and quality aspects are built into project frameworks.
- Ensure all projects maintain compliance with data protection, procurement, and governance obligations.
- Provide advice and guidance on emerging regulations, particularly those impacting service delivery and governance.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare and present reports to the CEO and relevant committees on risk, compliance, and quality matters.
- Track performance indicators and implement systems for monitoring compliance.
- Develop and deliver internal training and awareness sessions.
- Lead or support cross-departmental improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Quality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification or certification in Risk Management, ISO Lead Auditor, or Health & Safety (NEBOSH or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in risk, compliance, or quality assurance roles.
- Proven experience in ISO standards and internal auditing.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations and compliance frameworks.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Prior to being recruited and throughout the duration of employment, the selected candidates need to satisfy the requirements of the Protection of Minors Act (POMA) together with those of immunization.
