Director of Sales & Marketing

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the commercial launch and ongoing success of the new Hard Rock Hotel Malta. This is a pre-opening executive role responsible for driving revenue, market positioning, and brand presence across all key segments, both locally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Opening & Market Launch

  • Develop and implement the hotel’s commercial strategy across sales, marketing, and revenue streams.
  • Lead pre-opening initiatives including budget planning, team setup, and partnerships with global and local stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Hard Rock International to ensure alignment with brand standards and campaigns.

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive B2B and B2C strategies across leisure, corporate, MICE, and luxury segments.
  • Build strong relationships with tour operators, travel advisors, and corporate accounts.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, sales missions, and industry events.
  • Partner with the Global Sales Office to maximize reach and performance.

Marketing & Digital Strategy

  • Oversee digital, PR, and social media activities to position the hotel as a lifestyle destination.
  • Manage influencer collaborations, media partnerships, and targeted campaigns to drive awareness and direct bookings.
  • Ensure synergy between hotel marketing and the broader St. George’s Bay development.

Revenue & Distribution

  • Define pricing, distribution, and forecasting strategies in collaboration with Revenue Management.
  • Optimize performance across all channels (OTAs, GDS, direct).
  • Monitor market trends and adjust tactics accordingly.

Guest Experience & Brand Integration

  • Embed Hard Rock’s DNA into the guest experience through music, entertainment, and lifestyle activations.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure consistent brand storytelling from pre-arrival to post-stay.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit and lead a high-performing commercial team.
  • Set clear KPIs, foster collaboration, and champion innovation and accountability.
  • Promote an energetic and inclusive team culture reflective of the Hard Rock spirit.

Requirements

  • 6+ years’ experience in hospitality sales & marketing, with senior leadership roles in lifestyle or luxury hotel environments.
  • Proven pre-opening and market launch experience.
  • Strong understanding of European leisure, corporate, and MICE markets.
  • Background in digital marketing, branding, and business development.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Hospitality, Marketing, or Business.

Other Requirements

  • Based in Malta or willing to relocate.
  • Frequent travel required for business development and brand representation.
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and events.
  • Polished appearance with the ability to adapt style to different settings—from luxury events to Hard Rock brand activations.
