Deli Assistant

About This Job

As a Deli Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing, slicing, packaging, and serving deli products such as meats, cheeses and salads to customers in a clean and safe environment.

You will ensure high standards of customer service, product presentation, and food hygiene at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and assist them with selecting deli products.
• Slice, weigh, and package meats and cheeses to customer specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the deli counter and equipment.
• Rotate stock and check expiry dates to ensure product freshness.
• Follow food safety and health regulations strictly.
• Keep accurate records of inventory and report shortages.
• Assist with pricing, labeling, and displaying products attractively.
• Work as part of a team to ensure smooth daily operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a deli, food service, or retail environment preferred.
• Certification of food hygiene.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and well-presented.
