Role Overview
Our Client is seeking an Associate Lawyer to contribute to a wide variety of legal matters within Corporate and Commercial practice. The selected candidate will work closely with senior professionals, supporting both client engagements and internal projects. This position is suited to a detail-oriented legal professional who is comfortable handling a diverse workload while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
- Senior Legal Support: Provide assistance to senior team members on legal assignments and strategic initiatives while ensuring matters progress efficiently and accurately.
- Client Advisory: Offer well-reasoned legal input to clients on business-related legal matters, ensuring recommendations are commercially sound and compliant with applicable regulations.
- Contract Drafting and Review: Prepare and assess a variety of legal agreements and formal documentation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with regulatory requirements across different practice areas.
- Corporate Administration: Handle company-related legal obligations including structural changes, statutory filings, and governance-related duties where necessary.
- Regulatory Coordination: Support regulatory and investment-related processes by communicating with supervisory bodies, auditors, and external advisers to facilitate timely completion of requirements.
- Legal Analysis: Carry out detailed legal research and present findings in a structured and practical manner to support decision-making.
- Operational Organisation: Assist with the coordination of legal files, timelines, and administrative processes to maintain efficient workflows.
- Client Interaction: Attend meetings with clients, prepare supporting documentation, and ensure that agreed actions are completed within established timeframes.
- Education: Degree in Law and in possession of a warrant to practice law in Malta.
- Experience: A minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience within corporate and commercial legal practice or a similar environment.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of both Maltese and English is required to succeed in this role.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to present legal concepts clearly and professionally.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Technical Skills: Solid understanding of corporate and commercial legal frameworks together with exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Organisation: Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain accuracy when handling multiple assignments.
- Self-Motivated: A proactive and dependable professional with a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.
- Problem-Solving: Practical and analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate issues and propose effective solutions.
