Technician (Brewing, Beer Processing and Water Treatment)

Reporting to the Technical Trade Leader, the Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of equipment across Brewing, Beer Processing and Water Treatment through preventive, corrective and scheduled maintenance. The role supports production continuity, equipment reliability and product quality while ensuring compliance with GMP, safety and environmental standards.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Carry out planned, preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on equipment across Brewing, Beer Processing and Water Treatment.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and process-related faults to minimise downtime.
  • Monitor, inspect and test equipment to identify potential issues and support improvements in reliability, efficiency, safety and performance.
  • Install, modify, commission and improve machinery and equipment, using technical drawings, schematics, manuals and diagnostic equipment as required.
  • Perform ancillary technical activities such as welding, gas cutting, brazing, lubrication and plumbing, where trained and authorised.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure effective shift handovers and communication of equipment status and outstanding work.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments, providing technical support and knowledge sharing while maintaining high standards of housekeeping, GMP, safety and environmental compliance.
Educational and skill requirements
  • A technical qualification at MQF Level 4 or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance or industrial environment will be considered an asset.
  • Good troubleshooting, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work on a 3-shift basis, including night shifts.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence.

Prospective candidates who hold or are in the process of obtaining Wireman’s Licence A and B will be preferred. Candidates who do not currently hold these licences may still be considered, subject to a commitment to attend the relevant courses and obtain the required Wireman’s licences.
