

Support Worker (Part-Time)

About the Role
We are currently looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Support Worker on a Part-time casual basis in our Gozo programme specialized for children (age groups 6 years till 12 years). Our support workers shall be responsible for assisting individuals, promoting engagement in meaningful daily activities, regardless of their abilities. This approach empowers those they support, boosting their confidence and enhancing their independence.
What you'll be doing
- Work with individuals during their daily participation in activities to ensure their active engagement to the best of their potential.
- Support individuals during the provision of services in all possible aspects, including daily feeding needs, hygiene aspects, toileting and changing as well as supporting during transitions.
- Work with the client during animal interaction and therapeutic horseback riding.
- Work with the individuals in the pool during pool sessions, following the guidance of the Instructor/therapist.
- Carry out activities together with the individuals as recommended by therapists in the multisensory rooms.
- Actively support individuals during vocational training where appropriate.
- Carry out transport supervision according to the exigencies of the programme.
- Follow the practitioners’ recommendations depending on the needs of each individual.
- Follow practitioners, teacher’s, and therapist’s recommendations depending on the SMART goals of each individual.
- Follow each individuals Behaviour Support Plans, Risk Assessments, Sensory Profiles under the guidance of the tutors/therapists.
- Actively support individuals in the participation of sessions according to the curriculum/activities as planned.
- The Support Worker may be required to research and find creative ways in which sessions can be delivered depending on each individual/group’s needs.
- The Support Worker may be required to assist the practitioners/teachers/therapists with delivering sessions in small groups according to the curriculum/activities.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated support worker with a strong passion for providing high-quality care and support to children (age group between 6 year and 12 years) with diverse needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- A recognized ‘Qualification’ at MQF Level 3 or higher (minimum of 60 ECTS/ECVET) in health and social care or relevant.
- Previous experience within disability sector (favor will be given to candidates exposed to autism spectrum disorder/challenging behaviour).
- Available to work in the afternoons & on Saturdays.
- High proficiency in English language (both spoken and written).
