Sales and Inventory Analyst

The Sales and Inventory Analyst supports the Commercial Manager by focusing on sales data analysis and inventory optimisation. The role involves analysing sales trends, monitoring inventory levels, and providing actionable insights to ensure stock availability aligns with market demand. The ideal candidate will contribute to improving forecasting accuracy, minimising stockouts and overstocking, and supporting data-driven decision-making.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Sales and Inventory Analysis

  • Track and analyse sales data to identify trends, seasonality, and opportunities for growth.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure alignment with sales forecasts and business objectives.
  • Provide detailed analysis of sales performance, revenue, and inventory turnover to inform decision-making.

Forecasting and Planning

  • Assist in developing accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and sales input.
  • Support inventory planning processes to ensure optimal stock levels for sales campaigns and promotions.
  • Evaluate historical performance and propose adjustments to forecasting models to improve accuracy.

Reporting and Insights

  • Create and distribute regular reports on sales performance, inventory status, and key metrics.
  • Highlight risks such as stock shortages, overstocking, or sales anomalies.
  • Develop actionable insights and recommendations to improve inventory efficiency and sales alignment.

Collaboration and Support

  • Work closely with the Commercial Manager and sales team to align inventory with sales goals.
  • Liaise with procurement and supply chain teams to communicate sales-driven inventory requirements.
  • Support ad hoc projects and provide data analysis for new business initiatives as requested by the Commercial Manager.
Educational and skill requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales analysis, inventory management, or a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.· Effective communication and collaboration skills.
