Brothers Oswald and Alexander Scicluna humbly welcome you to the culinary experience that is Taâ Detta. The name in itself memorialises the restaurant's ownersâ late sister Odette, who sadly passed away in 2008, emotionally linking the brothersâ shared love for their sister and their unmistakable passion for food. This is clearly evident through their ample experience in the food business, with Oswald himself obtaining a Master Chef Diploma from the University of Malta in 2018 with an in-depth study of Maltese Cuisine.
Located at the very heart of Valletta Waterfront, the sensational lunching-to-dining experience that is Taâ Detta aims to champion traditional Mediterranean gastronomy and, above all, honour Maltese cuisine as its flagship palate. Long had the Scicluna brothers envisaged a homey but lush venue, with welcoming staff, exquisite food and, above all, beyond satisfied customers. And now here it is, yours for the taking.
Our professional head chef and his amazing team of food artisans will leave you with salivating sensations as you feast upon their marvellous culinary works of art.

⢠Excellent communication and customer service abilities
⢠Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
⢠Maltese language preferred

Main tasks and responsibilities
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant operations whilst being hands on
- Lead and support the service team
- Ensure high standards of service and customer satisfaction
- Coordinate with kitchen and management staff
- Train and mentor junior staff
- Taking orders via POS
- Upselling & explaining the specialities of the Day
- Being able to serve beverages including wine
- Maintining teamwork with other staff members
- Greeting guests on arrival
- Having enough expereince to deal with any food allergies or remards
