Mechanical Technician

Malta International Airport plc is looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about working with people within an Airport environment, is willing to continuously learn, develop, and be part of a high performance culture. This vacancy has arisen within the Technical Services Department.

The Mechanical Technician will be part of the Facilities Team responsible for the upkeep of the Company’s infrastructure, addressing faults and implementing the preventive maintenance program with a focus on air conditioning / refrigeration, auto repair skills and minor lift and escalator servicing and other tasks requiring mechanical expertise.

Main responsibilities include:

To carry out any Mechanical works as instructed on MIA property, vehicles, equipment, and systems, including, but not limited to:

• General mechanical plant, equipment and systems in operation at Malta International Airport.
• Air-conditioning, ventilation, air handling systems and plant.
• Transportation systems, including lifts, escalators, hydraulic platforms.
• Baggage handling systems, including Check-in conveyors, HBS, sorting conveyors and Baggage reclaim systems.
• Other miscellaneous equipment such as, roller shutters, tools and test/calibration equipment, and other equipment/appliances.
  
  

Requirements

Applicants should:

• Hold at least an MQF Level 4 certificate in a Mechanical field.
• Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• Be knowledgeable / have experience of working with Microsoft Office applications.
• Have respect for Health, Safety & Environmental aspects.
• Have a valid driving license.
