Role Overview
This role is central to driving critical infrastructure initiatives across Microsoft cloud platforms, with a strong emphasis on IT security, networking, and operational efficiency. The Cloud Engineer will lead the implementation and support of high-impact projects, ensuring the robust performance and security of hybrid and cloud-based environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Technology Implementation: Spearhead the planning and deployment of cloud infrastructure projects, integrating Microsoft technologies and security services.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct proactive system checks and optimisations to ensure seamless performance across client networks, cloud, and security setups.
• Customer Communication: Provide timely updates to clients regarding service incidents, maintenance tasks, and infrastructure changes.
• Client Relationship Management: Foster strong, long-term relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and encourage ongoing collaboration.
• Documentation & Advisory: Assist in maintaining technical documentation and offer consultative guidance to support client infrastructure improvements.
• Commercial Collaboration: Contribute to sales efforts by advising the commercial team on technical feasibility and infrastructure requirements.
• Technology Optimization: Evaluate and recommend strategies to enhance systems for improved security, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Research & Innovation: Support the exploration and integration of new technologies in line with the Company's growth strategies.
• Network Infrastructure: Design and manage essential networking components including firewalls, routers, switches, and VPN configurations.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Lead the deployment and ongoing management of services within Microsoft Azure.
• Hybrid Infrastructure: Oversee environments combining on-premises and cloud resources, ensuring seamless integration and scalability.
• Security Infrastructure: Manage and enhance security systems such as firewalls, endpoint protection, and SIEM solutions.
• Identity and Access Management (IAM) Security: Implement and maintain IAM protocols to safeguard systems and uphold compliance standards.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience: Ideally, a minimum of two years' experience in an IT environment, with exposure to cloud-based technologies.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
• Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly, both in writing and speech, to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Interpersonal Skills: Self-driven and approachable, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and clients.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in managing Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms; familiar with network design, cybersecurity tools, and diagnostic methodologies.
• Organisation: Capable of managing multiple priorities and projects with a structured and detail-oriented approach.
• Self-Motivated: Enthusiastic about learning and continuously improving both technical and interpersonal capabilities.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
